ARE YOU READY TO JOIN US ON THE S/V LINDEN?

The S/V Linden is a truly remarkable vessel, purpose-built for authentic polar expeditions. With its classic three-mast silhouette and elegant lines, it appears to have sailed straight out of a Victorian-era exploration novel. Constructed in 1993 as a modern replica of the original 1923 Linden, this 50-meter schooner has more than three decades of experience navigating northern waters. Its robust construction and Ice Class 1C certification make it perfectly suited for Arctic adventures.

Meals are freshly prepared by the onboard chef and served in the lounge area, which also features a well-stocked library of polar literature.

Daily life aboard is relaxed yet thrilling. After a hearty breakfast, the day’s activities are planned, wildlife is observed through binoculars, and stories are shared over warm drinks. With two Zodiac boats, guests have the opportunity for frequent landings—visiting glaciers, historic hunting cabins, and untouched Arctic landscapes.

Wildlife sightings may include walruses, bearded seals, minke whales, belugas, and—if lucky—the majestic polar bear.

In accordance with environmental guidelines, we approach wildlife with respect and caution, ensuring we do not disturb their natural behavior. All landings are led by experienced, armed FRAMTours guides who also conduct lectures on Arctic flora, fauna, and history.

And for the true Nordic touch? The ship features a proper Finnish sauna—an ideal retreat after a refreshing Arctic dip!
