YOU DESERVE TO BE AN HERO

Imagine a land at the edge of the world. Covered by 75% ice and 25% earth and rocks. The last human bastion before the North Pole. Just over 2500 people and over 4000 polar bears live in its 61 thousand square kilometres.

Welcome to Svalbard Islands. Welcome to the edge of the world.

Our journey will begin in Longyerbyen, the capital of the Svalbard Islands and starting point of our sailing trip to discover the western Spitzbergen archipelago.

If you take on a unique journey aboard an early twentieth century sailing ship and follow in the footsteps of the first polar explorers, this is the perfect journey.

SAFETY CONSIDERATION:

The trip includes several landings during the entire trip, where some of them (ranging in length from 500m to 6 km) can be carried out with relatively manageable gradients. We may encounter ice, snow, mud or something else. Temperatures may vary by several degrees between 1 ° C and 12 ° C. You are therefore advised to dress appropriately.
The program is subject to change based on weather and ice conditions.

During the landings, our Arctic guides will carry all the necessary equipment against polar bears and safety. You are therefor invited to follow the guides indication very carfully.

PRELIMINARY ITINERARY

This map rappresent just an indication of the sailing that we are planning to go. The real sail will depends by several factors such as weather, ice conditions and wildlife.

MEET THE CREW FOR THIS TRIP

FILIPPO MAGGI

I come from a small town in central Italy nestled in the woods of the Apennines, on the border between the regions of Lazio and Abruzzo. In my life, mountains and nature have always had a fundamental role. Therefore, once I finished high school I decided to combine my passions and attend the faculty of Geological Sciences at Sapienza University in Rome.
My studies and my passion for rocks and mountains lead me to the world of photography, thus beginning my path as a photographer by portraying mountain landscapes and climbers in action”

DAVID CAMMORANESI

Norway has been my calling, allowing me to fully pursue my passion for landscape and wildlife photography, something I struggled to do as I wanted in Italy. Coming from central Italy, where I grew up in the shadow of the Apennine Mountains, I discovered photography as my way of expressing my connection to nature after completing my university studies.
After more than eight years of taking photos, working, and teaching photography, I decided to seek new challenges and a place where I could truly live my passion.
Norway became the answer. Being a guide and spending most of my time outdoors is a blessing for someone as passionate about photography as I am”.

MATTEO MOURGLIA

“I was born in a small town nestled among the Italian Alpine valleys, where since I was a child I developed a deep love for nature and its wonders. Growing up among majestic mountains and crystal clear lakes, I cultivated an innate passion for photography, with which I try to capture the beauty of the world around me. In 2019, the desire to explore new horizons led me to Norway, where I took on what I consider to be a dream job: Northern Lights hunting. Between the long arctic nights and breathtaking landscapes, I accompany visitors to discover this celestial spectacle, sharing my passion and knowledge with them. My life is a perfect balance between adventure and a deep respect for nature”.

CRISTIAN COSTA

"I was born in the middle of the best decade of all, the Eighties, probably on a rainy Wednesday afternoon in March, in a town near Milan, in Italy."
The passion for photography begins in the summer of the first year of high school, showing me the world around me in a different light.
Since summer 2008 I start dedicating myself (blood and bones) to the Arctic Regions. Since 2012 I guided groups in Svalbard, Greenland, Canada, Iceland, Norway and Faroe Islands and currently I live in Tromsø (Norway) from where I can travel all over these regions
