From here, you will travel towards Senja, Norway’s second-largest island, often described as a “miniature Norway” thanks to its incredible diversity of landscapes. As you make your way across the island, you’ll encounter jagged peaks plunging into the sea, white sandy beaches framed by turquoise waters, and picturesque fishing villages that reflect the region’s deep-rooted maritime heritage.
During your stay on Senja, you’ll have time to truly connect with nature. In winter, the island becomes a prime location for witnessing the Northern Lights dancing across the sky, while in summer, the midnight sun bathes the landscape in a magical golden glow.
The journey continues towards the Lyngen region, home to the majestic Lyngen Alps. Crossing fjords by ferry and traveling along remote coastal roads, you’ll enter a landscape dominated by sharp alpine peaks, glaciers, and deep blue fjords. After breakfast it will be time to get back to the airport in time for your flight schedule and say goodbye.
Our tour between Senja and the Lyngen Alps include hearty, locally inspired meals. Expect fresh fish (like salmon or cod), traditional Norwegian dishes, and warm soups or stews—perfect after outdoor activities. Vegetarian options are often available if requested in advance.
The weather can be quite variable, especially in winter. Temperatures often range from -10°C to 5°C, but wind and coastal conditions can make it feel colder. Snow, clear skies, and sudden changes are all possible: so flexibility is key for activities like Northern Lights viewing.
Layering is essential. Bring thermal base layers, a warm insulated jacket, waterproof outerwear, gloves, a hat, and sturdy winter boots. Even if some gear is provided, having your own well-fitting clothing will make the experience much more comfortable.

The Northern Lights are one of the highlights of this region, especially from late autumn to early spring. While sightings can’t be guaranteed (they depend on solar activity and weather), the remote locations and low light pollution between Senja and the Lyngen Alps offer excellent chances to see them.
During our tour you will experience a dogsledding acitivity (weather permitting) or a Sami and reindeer farm visit. In addition you might also have the opportunity to hike to the Segla or a boat trip to spot some wildlife or catch your own dinner.
