Fram Tours

About us

FRAMtours was founded in Tromsø in 2021 with the desire to portray the Arctic in an authentic way. We believe in journeys that leave a mark, in experiences that combine nature, discovery and respect. Every day, we accompany curious travellers through silent fjords, starry winter skies and landscapes that seem to come from another world.

The heart of our project

We are an independent company, passionate and deeply connected with the Arctic. Every experience we design is born from the encounter between nature, local culture and sustainability: small groups, human rhythms, guides who live in the Arctic as their home. We want to offer you not just a trip, but a different way of looking at the world. Whether under the Northern Lights, among the ice of a fjord or in the traditions of Arctic communities, our goal is to make you feel part of something real and unforgettable.

GENERAL FAQ

We send out newsletters every two weeks, containing news about the Arctic, travel, excursions, and lots of interesting facts, as well as, of course, great offers.
NOTE: We will never share your information with third parties, and if you no longer enjoy our newsletters, you can unsubscribe at any time.

By subscribing to our newsletter, you can download our free catalog (always updated in real time), both for day trips and for destinations and expeditions in duck diving.

Typically, once a trip is booked with us, it's considered non-refundable (even if only the 30% deposit has been paid). This is because you have to book a whole series of accommodations and/or excursions that typically don't allow cancellation after purchase. For this reason, we always recommend purchasing (separately or as part of the travel package) comprehensive medical and baggage insurance that covers cancellation for any reason. It costs a little more than regular travel insurance, but it can save you from wasting a lot of money.

Note: Insurance policies don't cover all risks/causes. Please inquire before purchasing your insurance.

Unless otherwise indicated, the cancellation policy for all excursions is 24 hours.
The customer has the right to cancel and/or modify the reservation up to 24 hours before the departure date and time. In the event of cancellation, 7% of the total amount spent will be retained as a processing fee.

After 24 hours, the supplier has complete discretion to accept or decline any requests for modifications to the activity. A full or partial refund is never granted.

For groups of more than 9 people and/or private groups, cancellation for all activities is 7 (seven) days before the departure date.

First, we must point out that cash payments for same-day activities and/or travel packages are not possible under any circumstances.

The only accepted forms of payment are credit/debit cards or bank transfers.

Specifically, the following:

  • For same-day activities: credit/debit card only at the time of booking.
  • For travel packages: a 30% deposit is required at the time of booking by credit card or bank transfer.
The balance is due 60 days prior to departure.
If the travel package is booked less than 60 days prior to departure, full payment will be required.

Generally, yes!

It's possible to purchase some day trips privately (subject to availability and timeframe). In this case, please read the relevant cancellation policies.

Regarding travel packages, it depends largely on the type of trip you'd like to purchase. Some destinations are only accessible during certain times of the year and/or it's not possible to book accommodations and/or other excursions completely privately. However, you can "rent" our guides for the entire requested period.

Well, to be honest: depends. Are we talking about multi days trips or daily activities? In both cases: if we should aware you, we definetelly suggest you to book our services as soon as possible, that's in order to prevent any type of inconvenient due to fully booking activities. Here the specifics for each tour.

  • Destinations and Expedition Cruises: We warmly suggest you to book the expeditions with, at least, 6 months in advance. With such of early booking, you can get best prices and higher opportunity to find a better spots on board. Last but not least, our expeditions require flights tickets to get to the destination and in order to provide you best best rates possible, we kindly ask you to book long time before you go. Of course, for some trips you might be lucky enough to find availability even close to the departure date. Nevertheless, the earlier the better.
  • Daily activities: In Tromsø we do daily tours that you can easily find on our website. Even in this case we suggest you to book your activity at least 30 days in advance. Remember: during the high season you might barely find something to do because the high demand and in most cases we are fully booked for days for our most popolar tours and many locals tours operators might not alloweds you to join on their tours as weel.

As a general rule we suggest you to book with us as soon as possible. If you are a group of 4 or even more, do not wait to much or the missconseption of "I will book on the spots": is too risky and you might not find a tour(s) for you.
