Program

Arrive in Winnipeg where you will enjoy a relaxing stay at our choice hotel, The Grand byLakeview at the Winnipeg Airport.
Meet the rest of your group at an orientation dinner.
Overnight in the hotel ready for the adventure!

You will depart early from Winnipeg to Churchill, where they board a private charter flight to Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge.
After settling in and receiving a safety briefing about staying in polar bear territory, the first afternoon is spent exploring the coastline in search of polar bears.
Evenings feature tundra-inspired dining, educational presentations by expert guides, and, on clear nights, the chance to witness the northern lights.

Each morning, fueled by a hearty breakfast, your guides will map out the day’s Arctic adventures.
If polar bears are nearby, the day might start with an impromptu photo and observation session: because in this wild, untamed land, nature writes the schedule.
Prefer a slower pace? Stay at the lodge, snap wildlife photos, or simply soak in the pristine, expansive views around you.
Daily excursions plunge you into the rugged Arctic terrain: traverse tidal flats and the Hudson Bay shoreline on foot or in specially outfitted all-terrain vehicles, capturing polar bears and other elusive wildlife in their natural kingdom.
Explore winding river deltas and rolling beach ridges, or linger near the lodge for up-close encounters and perfect photographic moments.
When night falls, the skies become part of the adventure.
Staff vigilantly watch for aurora borealis displays, ready to deliver a gentle wake-up call so you won’t miss the breathtaking dance of lights across the Arctic heavens.

After breakfast, guests fly back to Churchill, enjoying aerial views along the way.
The day includes a guided tour of Churchill’s history, with stops at the Parks Canada exhibit, Itsanitaq Museum, Polar Bear Jail, and murals from the 2016 SeaWalls festival, plus free time for souvenir shopping.
In the evening, the group flies south to The Grand Hotel in Winnipeg to conclude the journey.

CHURCHILL: THE HUDSON BAY ODISSEY FAQ

The prime viewing season is autumn (October–November), when polar bears gather along the coast waiting for sea ice to form on Hudson Bay. During this period, sightings are frequent and often at close range.
However, in September you could see polar bears with a autumn colours backgroud (which is absolutely stunning!)

As a general rule: ABSOLUTLEY NOT!
All excursions are led by highly trained guides who follow strict wildlife safety protocols. Guests receive safety briefings and remain supervised during all outdoor activities

In addition to polar bears, guests may encounter Arctic foxes, ptarmigan, snowy owls, caribou, wolf, wolverines and migratory birds, along with spectacular northern lights displays on clear nights.

Our chef at the Lodge will prepare an interantional food for everyone. If you have any kind of food restriction and/or food intollerance, we invite you to let us know about it as soon as possibile. Once at the Lodge your request might be very difficult to accomodate.

Temperatures typically range from about −5°C to −20°C in autumn. Layered winter clothing, insulated boots, gloves, and face protection are essential, and a detailed packing list is provided before departure.
